They say April showers bring May flowers, but if those April showers were the tears of Alex Rodriguez after his beau Jennifer Lopez called it quits on their relationship, May only brought more showers. Soon after the dynamic duo’s split (and subsequent rejoining, followed shortly thereafter by another split), J-Lo was spotted gallivanting through the woods of Montana with none other than Batman him - Ben Affleck. “You like apples?” Affleck was metaphorically saying to A-Rod. “Then how do you like them apples?” (Yes, I know Matt Damon’s character said this, just go with it).
In classic A-Rod fashion, our protagonist took the high road. When asked about the J-Lo/Affleck pairing, A-Rod’s response? “Go Yankees.” And that, folks, is why we love him. Always a company man, even in the face of heartbreak and willing to stick it to a Red Sox fan. A-Rod has consistently taken the high road - the article above states that “he is only interested in his kids, baseball and business.” Really, who among us doesn’t respect a man that knows how he made his money and who he makes it for? Alex Rodriguez is a man truly living his best life right now. Yankees only.
As J-Lo and Ben’s jaunt across Miami (a shot across the bow to canoodle on A-Rod’s home turf) took the news by storm, our man decided to give the people what they wanted - hope.
“I’m about to step into a new beginning in my life," A-Rod wrote in an Instagram story. "Anything that doesn't serve me is clearing out of my life. New levels are unlocking for me mentally, physically, and spiritually. I am remaining patient and know that this new phase of my life is coming."
A new phase of A-Rod is a dangerous proposition. Alex had found the sweet spot and the public affection by playing up the “weird boyfriend/dad/baseball nerd” angle. We’ve seen new phases from A-Rod and they don’t often end well. Something to keep an eye on, no doubt.
A-Rod is not just focused on a spiritual cleansing, but also a physical one as well. Yes, to man the hot corner, you’ve got to look your best, and A-Rod’s new makeup line will help the aspiring youths of America do just that. This concealer line for men will cover up the scars and blemishes that populate the faces of most people. No word on if they have a similar effect on heart scars, but you can bet that aesthetically, Alex Rodriguez will come second to none. Watch out, ladies.
